Jim is a retiree from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources. He spent 30 years working in the Barrie, Owen Sound, Algonquin Park and Sudbury areas both in forestry and wildfire management. Jim discovered his interest in creative art while working in Algonquin Park as the forest operations manager. His wildfire experience has taken him to all corners of Ontario’s vast landscape.
Jim originally started painting in oils but later switched to acrylics. He also does pencil and charcoal work. He is a self taught ‘realist’ and his work focuses on forest and farm landscape, wildlife and flora. As a recent resident of Kemptville, he is looking forward to sharing his work with anyone who appreciates Ontario’s rural and wilderness settings.
