Ann Sutherland Gruchy, a visual artist with her studio in North Gower (Ottawa), is known for her bold, large three-dimensional work. Her organic, semi-abstract images stress design, texture, light and colour. Ann works in acrylic mixed media, watercolour, ink, oil and printmaking.
She is an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists (2012)
Ann has had numerous juried solo exhibitions. (Shenkman “Trinity Gallery’. Ottawa International Airport, Brockville Arts Centre) as well as winning awards in many group shows (Marianne van Silflout Gallery, Brockville, Ottawa Watercolour Society, Shenkman (SELECTIONS) and Nepean Fine Arts League.
Ann teaches regularly and has served as a juror for numerous shows, groups and associations. She is an active member of the Manotick Art Association, Art Lending of Ottawa, West Carleton Art Society, Ottawa Mixed Media Artists and the North Grenville Art Guild.
A graduate of Mount Allison University, she also studied visual arts at St. Lawrence College, Brockville and at the Ottawa School of Art.
